I think we got the same issues. I'm in east Auckland and using the FritzBox 7360.
Had a look at the log and found lots of these errors:
08.01.14 06:53:59 Timeout during PPP negotiation.
08.01.14 06:53:59 Internet connection cleared.
And as I know, web surfing / Youtube / speedtest etc are ok as long as the speed doesn't exceed 1.5m for a certain period of time (5 minutes maybe).
If I start to download something big, it will disconnect / timeout.
Hope Snap/Chorus will bring a fix soon.

Hey, what service are you on? Is it UFB? If so, which particular speed are you on?

:)

I'm on Snap Lightwave Extreme and the speed is 200/50 Mbps

It's still on trial / experimental

PoHq: ...
You can surf the web all day long with no issues but as soon as you start a download the connection drops. When we tested my connection dropped 3 times in a 1 GB download.

The fritzbox log states "timeout during PPP negotiation"

Which model of Fritz!Box are you using PoHq? Maslink/SamF, are you seeing this problem?

I hadn't noticed, however looking at my connection log files I am seeing a lot of "Internet connection cleared" followed by "timeout during PPP negotiation":

These correspond to periods when I was downloading large files (as distinct from general web surfing and streaming)

So yes, I would say I am seeing the same issue...on 7390 with 6.01 firmware.

I'm not seeing this issue, and I updated over the weekend. Perhaps I'll stay on 100/50 until issues ironed out. Guess that's why they have a trial.

Been on 200mbs for a week or so now, I understand its a trial/beta thing, this is not a rant merely feedback

Very unstable connection will drop about 5-10 times a day, fluctuating speeds and latency throughout the day.

Been trying to call snap the last couple days but I've been on hold for 20+ minutes so I ended up hanging up.
Not sure if I should even be giving feedback to snap? but atm it doesn't seem to be improving.

Speed test @ 5:30 pm

https://www.speedtest.net/result/3218301975.png

Latency used to be 150 before switching.

edit: also internet is constantly dying when trying to download. I see I'm not the only one O.o Fritzbox7340 5.22

You have your speedtest server set to LA. Although it should still be a lot quicker.

Yeh I kno. I only care about international speeds seeing as tho that's where 99.9999% of my internet use is

Fair enough, I guess most of mine would be international to.

I'm getting about same speed to LA. on a speediest, currently have Netflix streaming super HD no issues though.

I lodged an email report to Snap yesterday and they replied:
Thanks a lot for relaying this information to us. This is exactly the kind of feedback we are wanting for this profile type. After looking at your account, I can see that there is a great deal of disconnects over the course of the last few days. This does seem highly unusual. I am going to relay this to our network engineers to go over. Hopefully we can get this rectified for you as soon as possible.

I swapped from WxC to Snap's200/50 and I too (in Christchurch) receive the same problems. As soon as I start downloading anything substantial and at speed I can't make calls out and if I am on a call it will disconnect.

Speedtests reveal speeds anywhere between 80Mb's - 200m/bits with an average of about 110 -uploads are fine, but only to Snaps server. Anything other server and I'm lucky to get to 40Mb's down. Have spoken with Snap on numerous occasions and they acknowledge that there is a fault, they have known about it for a while and are trying to rectify the issue.

The thing I find frustrating is that while they know there is a problem in getting to these speeds they continue to sell and charge for the product that they can't deliver. I know it is a test product but for it to be a genuine test they need to have a working product first.

I have spoken with one other person who does get the appropriate speeds consistently and speedtests to Australian servers at close to max speed, the difference, he's not using a consumer router. Maybe the Fritz!box 7390 is the underlying issue.

I do have my WxC router still(their latest) and I'm going to see if I can configure it to work, otherwise will look at going directly into the ONT from my switch.

This is our current line of thinking - but we are still testing and working with AVM.
