Well, actually, we do - if you had been on the non-contract $49 plan, you would have been automatically upgraded to unlimited voice minutes (whether you care about them or not).

So, why not upgrade those on a contract to the new data/voice allowances?

Because that's not the plan you signed up for, of course 2 years down the track there will be better plans, its always a risk signing a mobile contract. I miss out on another 3.75gb by them not moving me over but meh, i barely use the 1.25 let alone 5gb.

Because the contract plans trade a handset subsidy for reduced network allowances. This is one reason why we've basically dropped the concept - to get the 'free' handset these days you finance it separately- "MRO" - (but through us so it's all done in one transaction) and then have a non-contract plan.

Yes you will.

The Nexus 6 is available on MRO but it's not in stock atm so won't be showing in our online store.

Other phones will become available. The way to check if a phone is available on MRO is to click on the "This phone may be available Interest Free. Check now" button.

livisun: im on the $99 share everything plan, do i get more data or any upgrades?? still got 14 months left on my plan :(

You'll keep your current allocations. You can change to another plan but there could be plan change fees to pay. Call our Retention team on 0800 000 202 who can give you the various options.

I have two phones. One is with 2Degrees on prepay and the other with another provider, on account but not on contract, but stuck there because I'm paying the phone off on a deferred payment scheme. Have every intention of bringing the main phone over to 2Degrees when I can, but unsure as to whether it'll be on account or prepaid. I'm going to have to study the pay monthly plans a bit more first to try and figure out which is the best option.

People often mistake me for an adult because of my age.

I remember switching from the same plan to a telecom 400min/1gb plan, being able to use my phone as a phone was awesome, I managed to curb my data habits easy enough so I guess you will easily be able to do the same given a bigger cap and roll over data

It doesn't take long to bank data, by being frugal for a couple of months you will soon have enough buffer to cover the odd big data month

Another option is go $29 plan plus 12gb data pack, is surprising hard to use even 300 minutes if you have survived on only 60min to date

Unless Vodafone do something I think I'll be switching - $10 less and 3GB more on the top plan, free data sharing with my tablet, and carryover data, that's pretty enticing.

C'mon it was only a couple of years ago that it cost around $60/mth for a very average smartphone plan, then it dropped to around $40, now $49 for all you can eat calls/texts and 2.5gb of rollover data, i'm struggling to see that as anything other than positive for the consumer

That said, i wont be moving plans anytime soon as I struggle to get through my $29/mth 300mins/1gb data which thanks to a couple of 2D data promos I have around 650 mins and 5GB data at my disposal. i usually use around 200min and maybe 1.5gb each month so the minutes keep banking up and the data slowly withers away

I guess in 8~10mths time i might have to readdress my plan as by then my data should have consumed itself down to just my monthly 1gb allocation

Well from work I could get 20% off plans. So I switched to 2Deg $49 plan so really it would be $40 and ported my number across.

So afterwards I sent the details to my 2degrees rep but got reply saying I am too late to get the 20% off plan, saying I should have did it before the plan was launched.

Now I switched back to Vodafone and was relieved to find my Smart 1 grandfather plan is still active. God I hope there I still get the 5GB data lol.

I will have to call vodafone technical tomorrow to fix some issues though because i think they will have to get my number back from 2degrees.

I feel like I cheated and begging to be accepted back lol.

So it looks like when I ported my number Vodafone cut off my service and I can't go back to the Smart1 plan.

That's fine I will just settle on a cheap 2Degrees plan and get a zone pack.

Only problem is my ported number still has issues with iMessage activation. Any advice?
