art3011: I have been with Vodafone (Ihug) since 2003.  They used to have very good customer service.  But now, their customer service is very poor.  Try logging a problem, and they will reply only after 15 days to a month.  Try contacting them by phone, and they will put you on hold for 90 minutes.

Orcon@Home seems to be competetively price, but reading at this forum's "Orcons international performance" is giving second thoughts.  Are those performance issues resolved ?

NO.  And the thread about it was locked.  Have not seen if someone has made another thread giving their opinion on the issue.

I got my refund from Orcon after months of battling for my consumer rights.  They lack communication and problem solving skills and only see thier customers as a username.

Most of them are resolved although Caller ID still only works once in a blue moon.

So these are the options we've been considering...

xtras new Pro 40gb plan
Orcon Silver + 25gb
Vodafone  Ultimate Red
since orcon international performance is said to be bad & vodafones plan only being 20gb...I'm going to move us off go large this week and onto the new xtra pro 40gb plan soon as it's available

Pay a little more usage wise but at least it's reliable & xtra customer service is good

Vodafone's Ultimate pack does allow up to 40GB using the "double your data" add on (which costs an extra $30), but that's exactly the same price in comparison to the new Pro plan.

Good luck then!

I no longer suggest orcon to anyone looking for an ISP. The performance issue has never been resolved and its really great to see the topic locked.

GG orcon you use to be a great isp, but not anymore :(
