"When the end logo is up, the voiceover says two words, and it sounds luck f **k off or perhaps bugger off?!?!?!?"

"Definately doesn't say the above lol! Rhys says "typical" in response to him facing away from the c rowd and the silence, when he asks " so..whos with us"...comedy pause....(no one says anything, but large show of hands)   ......"typical"......

Hi Geekzoners!

Thanks for all the positive feedback about our new ad and also the pert and probing questions.
Essentially all of your questions have been answered throughout the thread, but just so we are all on the same page:
1) Apologies for the go slow last night. The site was hammered, but we quickly got faster and faster. For those of you who persisted and registered for Chinwag - thanks!
2) Your Chinwag SIM comes with an 022 number. You do not have to port your number over to take advantage of Chinwag.
3) That being said you are more than welcome to port your number over to us in August, or take the opportunity to choose an 022 more suited to you.
4) The last few words that Rhys says in the ad are: "So, who's keen? No-one? Typical!" No secret sauce or subliminal messages with us.

Enjoy your day!
Cheers

I like it, very well done, I registered this morning for the chinwag, however no text came through, half an hour later I called the 0800 022022 number and man.....what an immensly confusing and unprofessional experience that was.

The rep on the other end of the phone had no idea what to do, put me on hold for 5 mins then came back and offered to register for me....I gave her my details and she repeated everything back to me that I'd said, but wrong, when I corrected her she repeated it back wrong again, After trying unsuccessfully to correct her for about the tenth time I ended up hanging up. They then called me back several times which I couldnt be bothered answering, after the fifth call or so I did and what do you know as I answer the phone they hang up...LOL.

Anyway, I will still be persisting with my registration at a later time! I'm sure there are a few bugs to iron out in the call centre being a completly new crew.

Great ad, I hope he gets porridge too.

Totally agree on the Telecom ads, they've actually made me dislike Richard Hammond.

Hi,  I don't think this one has been answered (from page two):

The ad says

"the more people who sign up, the more you will save." (or words very similar)

is this a vague sort of

"we can spread our fixed costs further and so eventually reduce prices"

statement or a specific promo like

"for every X'000 people who sign up we will reduce our per min price by Xc"

also,  why does Rhys say Log-o instead of loh-go. It's a very unusual pronunciation.

thanks

It got you talking though didn't it?

Bit of a Darby twist if you've seen some of his comedy.

Telecom must be so p**sed off!

mwahahahaha go 2degrees! Laughing

Why would Telecom be peed off?  They've know that 2degress was launching in August.  Maybe Vodafone  would be more nervous as their GSM fones  can have 2degrees SIMs put in with out any problems..

Telecom peed off because 2d ad is much better.

I think thats why Vodafone is going to start locking their newly sold phones!

Didn't they try that earlier in the year and the ComCom made noises so  they stopped.. Locking their fones now would show them up as a pack of pricks who don't want any form of competition..

Rhys Darby saying "Log - oh" is one of the funniest parts of a kiwi tv ad, ever, period.

Great ad, I for one will definitely be having a very close look at 2D when it launches.

Had problems with the website, called customer service. Wouldn't exactly describe the service as slick or polished, but we got there. Operator seems a little nervous and rushed if anything, something I am sure will improve over time.

Remember 2D, potentially massive point of differentiation to Vf is customer service and billing, so make sure its right!!

Brilliant ad; much much better than Telecom's XT adds. I think using Rhys Darby is a stroke of genius, and the whole approach of the add is refreshingly "kiwi".

I agree with (and expand on) earlier comments: For 2D to succeed, and I really hope they do, they need to ensure:
1. pricing is significantly better. All this hype/comment re cheaper prices has to be delivered, or their credibility will be shot.
2. service is good. Must be better than VF service - which is much despised; and
3. coverage is good.

Looking forward to the launch in August.

kind regards Andrew TD

oooh, errr - apologies to those who've had some difficulties in receiving the text code for Chinwag and also in your experience with the call centre. That is certainly not the experience we want you to have. Your feedback is very important to us so you can be assured that we've listened and we are ON TO IT.

Thanks for the faith!
Cheers

If you also look at the specifications on the new XT phones some have GSM chipsets and can be used on a GSM 900/1800 network 2 degrees uses these same frequencies on their 2G network so Telecom phones can be used on 2 degrees network.
