I'm mostly referring to the suggestions throughout the thread of being careful where you enter your number, reading the fine print and being careful who you trust  (personally I think both facebook and vodafone should have taken more resonsability to prevent such things happening).
The easiest way to get vodafone and facebook to meet your expectations is by lowering your expectations.

So, is a person being careful by putting their mobile number on their website? Because, as explained previously, this seems to be the norm. And what's the difference between this very public displaying of a mobile phone number and the entering of my number on Facebook which is not as readily available as a publicly available website.
