I just hope they can get towers up in Hamilton & Tauranga soon as planned, then maybe think of the other city sized towns around NZ that need their own network

manhinli: Also disappointingly says "Data Packs valid in 2degrees Broadband Zones only."?

I are disappoint. I bet vodafone won't bother offering better data at all, why would they?

Back to lost customer status again.
(Im i'n one of the "non broadband zones")

I reckon Telecom's 2GB for $59.95 on prepaid is good enough.

manhinli: Warehouse Stationery are offering the $99 512MB + modem package with 2GB on purchase. Data valid for 30 days.

Also disappointingly says "Data Packs valid in 2degrees Broadband Zones only." Frown

What if they have outer zone pricing too? 2GB for $100 + modem is pretty sweet! I hardly leave Wgtn and If I do it wont be for long and its usually up to Auckland anyway...

manhinli you do not disappoint in terms of your earlier specualation about 2degrees broadband zones but your almost-confirmation tonight does disappoint from a consumer point of view.

I always knew you were going to right though. We will know for sure tomorrow.

Kickass: From Manhinli Twitter:

I'm quite amused by the title of this site: "Mobile - Ethnic Campaign Microsite - For Chinese" - I think that could do with a bit of work.

And also from the Warehouse Stationary site:

Pretty sweet deal, huh? Might be worth getting one and cutting it down to microsim size just to have a play...

you can just order a microSIM for $20 and you get $20 credit so it is effectively free. no need to risk cutting it up wrong either.

That's what I'd do if I wasn't so cheap - but I can double my credit for the same price. I've cut sims down to size before, and it's actually a very straight forward procedure - especially when you have another microsim as a template.

Just confirming - this really is the nail in the coffin for those not in 2degrees' Mobile Broadband Zones:
If you live outside of our Mobile Broadband Zones, you can still benefit bfrom [sic] our nationwide 3G network by using our 50MB National Data Pack or buying paying per megabyte.

To all those complaining about broadband zones, tell me this:

Given these are utilising Vodafone's network, and are effectively an MVNO in these areas, how could you possibly have expected them to be able to offer the same sort of rates they can offer off their own network?

In fact to attempt to do so would be hugely unprofitable and would likely delay their ability to rollout their own network into the areas in which you live ... be reasonable people ...
