paulspain: How do they handle businesses signing up? The documentation appears to relate more to individuals rather than entire organisations signing up... is that deliberate?

I suspect that no body knows or is saying..

minute rollover-game changing!!!

The plan is a bit meh for me.

Still....IMO its a first step.  Rome was not built in a day.

More kudos to 2Degrees great to see you guys on postpaid.

You guys already have a world class customer first ethos, and in 5 years hopefully the infrastructure to match!

The force is strong with this one!

spazz:
Mobile data should be an add on. A lot of people don't use mobile data, and a lot of people don't even have mobile data capable 3G handsets.

You are the exception.

Totally agree! How can anyone complain about 2degrees "not having data included in the plan"? Just add it on! At $59 for plan + data + 100 bonus minutes + rollover minutes it still beats the pants off ALL equivalent offers. Awesome stuff.

I also agree with the mobile data aspect being an add on, but it would be good if this was at a discounted rate e.g. $3 more get 50mb of data / $15 more to get 512mb data. Of course, if there are a couple of plan choices, it wouldn't need to be an add on - e.g. talk/text plan and talk/text with data add on plan. I do like having some degree of choice but sometimes there can be too many choices! Good on 2degrees for keeping it simple.

Or as an alternative, keep the same prices as on prepay but allow data to roll over. However, I am not sure if that would economic for 2degrees in terms of revenue!

The minute rollover concept is refreshing and very positive step forward, adding data packs with their 90day expiry is also a great step for the casual user however @ $39/mth it is above the telecom lite user/casual user offering, a $20~25/mth buy in with reduced included minutes might be of more interest to the user that is budget conscious?

I would use between 50~200 minutes a month, a plan offering 60~80minutes with the rollover clause would be a better option in my case, i would bet money that I am not in the minority on this one?

Yeah a plan with fewer minutes and lower price point would be better for me.  I don't use that many minutes, but i have had the occasionally long call before, so those rollover minutes would help me then.  rollover minutes is a really really really good bonus.

this plan would get me to sign up

60 minutes
200 texts
50mb data

$25-30 a month.

im still a 2D user, just sticking with prepay as it works out better for me ATM.

freitasm:

If you join 2degrees Pay Monthly before 30th September 2010 you wull receive 100 bonus minutes every month, for a year. To get the bonus minutes you must send a SMS "bonus100" to 233 once your application has been approved. Bonus minutes are valid for 30 days and will be used after the standard plan minutes.

Just so theres no confusion.. Its before 31st October, 2010... Or at least thats what it says on the 2degrees website.

Also... Do you have to txt bonus100 to 233 every month to get the bonus mins or is it a once off thing that will automatically add on each month?

I didn't see this thread when I posted in the VF thread about moving my VF account phone to 2D. I think I will do so - just waiting for the SIM card now.

I am guessing the 2D 3G data in the main centres will be compatible with a Nexus One?

Staying in Wellington. Check out my AirBnB in the Wellington CBD.  https://www.airbnb.co.nz/h/wellycbd  PM me and mention GZ to get a 15% discount and no AirBnB charges.

Yip - Log onto Your 2Degrees and you can change to pay monthly (as long as the application goes through all fine once youve done it).

Here is how you do it.
