A bit off topic: But to all those people comparing Skinny to 2degrees note that Skinny is weekly, not monthly  And there are, on average, more than 4 weeks in a month.  So comparing monthly amounts to 4 x weekly is not quite accurate.  You end up with 13 months in the year if you do that.  You should really compare a month amount to 4 1/3 weekly amounts.

So when 2D finally introduces a voice combo I will make the comparison.

+1
Also with a weekly recurrence/replenish cycle you are more frequently put in a situation where you lose unused minutes/data or hit an overage situation - eroding the original value. Even though you are dealing with lessor values in a weekly cycle there is less averaging/ smoothing out of your typical usage which a monthly cycle would give you.
Weekly would suit some people however so it is horses for courses.

Exactly. Very happy, have signed up this morning and can now use my new cheap X5 phone with this plan. I must admit though, it does make the monthly plans look a bit weak by comparison...

If you look the monthly plans $39 and above now have 1GB monthly bonus data for a year.

Oh wow. $39, no contract, 220 minutes, 2500 any network texts and 1.1GB. Far out!! I might go on a plan for the first time in my life.

Yes, but you can enable/disable weekly a combo plan as you require.

The new 2D plan looks good, but I would like the option to swap out the voice minutes for more data, I just don't use voice minutes.

Yes, and there will be more MBB zones in the near future as we roll out our network.

Keep a check in here - http://www.2degreesmobile.co.nz/mobilebroadband/broadbandzones.
