so there is going to be a price increase, in return a speed and during peek hour speed continues speed.

how come I get the feeling we are going to be paying but not receiving the above? and what will you do about those who aren't getting what is suggested by slingshot?

Hi,

More bandwidth has been allocated to users in the Unlimited pool and peak time congestion should be better now.

This speed increase won't affect your DSL synch rate or your generally your base speed test results but should show an improvement across the board for all users where historically, congestion was occurring.

I would consider now peak time. and speeds are not even half of non peak time speeds. what do you want me to do?

actually when I was telstraclear I got 1500kbs, slingshot I've never got more than 1200kbs. why would this be?

Hi,

Depends what sort of data;

- Browsing and streaming should be fine all day.
- P2P is always prioritised so if the network is congested that will be the first to be slowed down.

Speed tests can be done at www.speedtest.slingshot.co.nz or third party sites, PM me your account info along with any speed test screen shots, modem configuration screen shots, issues you are having, additional info etc. and I'll take a look for you.

No seriously, I think its school holidays when school holidays are on the demand usually increased at least by 50% extra so speeds might slow down during the school holidays.

Saying that I've had no issues here although 90% of my traffic is local NZ traffic backups etc run between my server and home daily it runs a line rates when thats happening.

p2p I'm perfectly happy with anything above 100kbps during peak times I never expect it to go line rates although outside peak times it does YAY this is only my personal exception.

I have noticed a difference, but the difference has been negative for me. P2P usually went at line rates (17Mb/s) until the change was put in place. Now I'm lucky to get quater of that.

My rates to http stuff like YouTube and other downloading halfed during peak when it would otherwise be 1.5MB/s plus.

I'm not complaining though. Unlimited internet at 2Mb/s+ for 70.00 is a pretty good deal anyway!

For last couple of weeks ive noticed international offpeak is extremely slow, slower then usual, i used to be able to get around 5-7Mbit

Hi, we're continuing to provision bandwidth as this plan grows, however there was a slight logistical delay in the last International IP Transit augment. We have a change scheduled for Monday which will bring us back to where we should be.

While I'm here: Over the past week or so we have also improved our capacity and route options to Australia, which some of you may have noticed also.
