expression: I subscribed to this plan with a home phone back in April, and have thus far been very happy with it.
However yesterday I called Slingshot and asked if I could downgrade our plan to the naked version as we haven't used the phone in months. The representative on the phone was very helpful but told me (after talking to her superiors) that as I was still on a contract I could switch however it would cost $25 upfront and would extend our current contract by 12 months.
I told her I'd mull it over and get back to her, as I didn't even realise we were on a contract as when I signed up to the plan back in April, one of the big advantages of the plan was that there were no contracts.
If that was the case, why am I now on a contract?
The $25 fee would be the ETF for the homeline, not the broadband. Even if the broadband came with no contract, the homeline would of.
And the extension of the contract would be tied with the Naked Broadband as that is a completely different service to Broadband with a homeline.
