OK, so had the company out that wired up the place. They ran some tests on the cabling and ports and they said it's all up to spec. Getting 1Gb through the cables, there is no bends or busted connections. Everything from my end is completely as it should be.

2degrees have said everything at their end is fine. Enable have said everything for them on the SYSTEM is fine.

What the f(ire tr)uck is left.

get a fritzbox 7490 back into the network IMO - if that's causing issues then there's not much that they can blame you for.

I had 2 in use. Both had the same issue.

but you don't anymore... i would keep it there until this problem is resolved otherwise they can just blame your router every time.

Thankfully I worked there for 3 years so that isn't happening :-)

They've asked me to plug the Fritz back in and so they and Enable can run a simultaneous speed test.

Spent an hour on the phone with 2D tech support, reset the modem, reloaded the firmware, re loaded the settings and profile. Speeds went up to normal. End teh phone call and within 10 minutes I'm back down to rubbish. Starting to get seriously f***ing pi%%ed off.

To the point of taking the piss now. Every time I call up to arrange a fault with Enable they want to run the same dam trouble shooting tests that Have been done 10 times now, they haven't worked before, why would they work now?

I have given up trying their call center, I have PM'd the 2degrees rep on these forums but got no reply.

I am in the process of switching providers now. Pretty disappointing but I am cutting my losses I have better things to do with my time than run the same tests every time and wait in their call centre wait times.

If you do change providers, be sure to report back whether it makes any difference.

From an ISP perspective, 9 times out of 10 UFB speed issues are due to CPE. See an example here: http://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=39&topicid=205890&page_no=6#1687132

Here's hoping it's not bad fibre or bad ont as a provider swap won't fix that

And now they want to run a simultaneous speed test with enable before sending out a tech. But they need to send me a "special" router for that. Which is out somewhere else and I won't be able to get for a week.

So I switched providers, to see if there was any improvement. Lo and behold, already a huge improvement with all the same set up. Still a few kinks to iron out but already getting well beyond my speeds with 2degrees.

What hardware are you using? That's a seriously poor result.

i'm with sbiddle, something is slowing you connection down as those stats are about a 1/3 of what you should be getting.

maybe a bit of packet shaping? QoS? Firewall?

get the speed test app on your phone and see if that is different? this really only will show if the cellphone and wifi is 802.11ac compliant.

so far i think all your testing is done on the same computer.?
