I am really looking forward to the launch of 2 degrees but I was a bit hyped up for XT aswell and got let down due to really crappy deals that they offered. I really believed that somehow when you eliminate the monopoly then there should be competition but the two greedy telco giants are raking in the dosh from us which really pisses me off. Anyway I am just hoping that 2 degrees does not let us down by bragging about great deals but at the end flipin us a bird. Fingers crossed.

Have you heard?

Heard that the bird is the word!

Grr, hate that..

but yes, I totally agree.
However, from what I've seen so far; while XT has had their problems with the launch and stuff, they've managed to show some pretty consistant data speeds, which is more than I can say for Vodafone (Mobile Data, I'm talking), in that respect, while not happy about it, I feel it would be more worth it to pay extra and actually get services that work..

But anyway, I can't wait for 2Degrees. Hopefully we will see some kind of benefit with them here.

So far though, they seem to have done more than other Telco's (such as the Free SIMs)

XT was never advertising cheap pricing but 2D is so they would be mad not to have something great

fuzzywuzzy: as posted earlier in the thread...
"When the end logo is up, the voiceover says two words, and it sounds luck f **k off or perhaps bugger off?!?!?!?"

"Definately doesn't say the above lol! Rhys says "typical" in response to him facing away from the c rowd and the silence, when he asks " so..whos with us"...comedy pause....(no one says anything, but large show of hands)   ......"typical"......

I listened to it 3-4 times this morning, thinking surely not!!! but I listened to it now and it's gone, I think I'm going mad, slowly slowly mad....

Good on them for getting Rhys, I can feel the heat from the battle already, I wonder what deals they are going to come out with.

I'm with XT and loving it, I know 2D will push the prices down for me as well even if I don't change.

Strangely enough 2D also have 1 of 5 bars of coverage where I live in Parnell, same as Vodafone, it's only XT which seems to be able to get coverage here and perfectly at 5 bars so I won't be changing no matter what the deal :-)

My mate which live a few doors down is hoping like crazy the signal will improve at launch because their tower is a few hundred metres up the road. Hmmmmmmm.

I'm really impressed that they went with a Kiwi, a real local brand, the funny thing is now Telecom feels MORE british than Vodafone! and it was originally Vodafone running the ads with the british voiceovers.

The ad says:

"the more people who sign up, the more you will save."

I am going to go out on a limb here and say that from looking at their advertising, and at how chinwag works, and at how you go viral in a saturated market, I think 2degree are going to try and bypass the duopoly straglehold on interconnect by getting as many free SIM's into handsets by offering significant pricing incentives for people who only do on-net calling, and significant benefits to users to sign their friends up.

I agree with TomS, i think "the more people who sign up, the more you will save" refers to the more people on 2Degrees, the more "onnet" calls you will make.

I think 2D's onnet calls will be almost free.

If all your friends sign up, then you could call them anytime of the day for little price.

I have a question. You know how they will only have 3G in 3 main centres when they launch, well what exactly is 3G? With 2G you will still be able to go on the net and google maps right? Thank you

Yes you will. but simply put; it will be slow on 2G.

3G is MEANT to be faster, and you should be able to do things all at once such as make a call, send a txt, and surf the internet.

with 2G, you cannot surf the net and make a phone call, and its more or less dial up speeds.
