freitasm: I got a 2 Degrees SIM but it says "Not provisioned" when inserted on a handset...

2 Degrees confirmed the SIM I have is not active until next week when their network launches.

Someone here has a retail SIM pack (richms) and he certainly didn't mention any pricing on the packaging. I'm not doubting you but I wonder why such information would have been bundled.

No no, it wasn't with the sim card packaging as far as i know. It was some other information they got with like their promotion stand etc. which I have a feeling they weren't suppose to actually open ;-). Owell, you'll find out in 2 days if I'm correct =)

There was no mention on the little rip open thing that they even had $2 included on the sim either.

I was partially right. Correct on the 9c txts but didn't remember correctly on the calling.

I was at Dick Smith in Downtown this morning after the launch and got my $2 sim card. I sent my first text about 10 minutes ago! The annoying thing is that when I tried to change my number on the website, you can only choose from a list of numbers that are available, ie. you can't choose your own number entirely. Most of the available numbers are just random combinations anyway :S

Well that's disappointing but i guess you could probably get any number if you ring up there 0800 number and get it changed that way?

I managed to choose my own number just fine, 0220 xxx xxx where xxx xxx is the last 6 digits of my VF contract number... Don't know what you're doing wrong!

I picked up some SIMs from DSE this afternoon.

To pick your own number, seems you can only pick from 0220 xxx xxx at this stage. 022 [1-9] xxx xxx are not available at all

Hi mysticnz I was speaking to 2degrees this morning. I want to try and get my home phone number as well and CSR I spoke to said I could have 6 digits of my home phone number with a zero after the 022 and he tried to see if my full home phone number was available and their system wouldnt even tell him if it was available or not. So it looks as though everyone will have to wait till tomorrow morning to see if they can get their preferred number or not.
