djtOtago:
@Jexla What's the date you swap to spark?
30th/31st
Why's that?
will be interesting if you have a different experience performance wise

I agree, fingers crossed, regardless ended up paying less in the long run, so as long as it matches speeds, I will be okay.
Will update after connecting and sorting out any possible teething issues.
Just curious to see if a change in ISP magically fixes speed problems.
Are you getting a new router from spark?

with be interested to see the spark connection with the old router too :)
I've manually wiped the 2dg firmware from my 7490 and intend on using that like I was with Stuff. (as well as their Asus)
I've also received (for free, bar $15 shipping) the spark Huawei modem.
Will likely be testing both the Fritzbox and the Huawei and will update with that information also.
Also managed to sell my old 7390 for $50 on TM when I picked up my 7490 for $20 unused, in the box on facebook ;)

Oh I know more than you think
Literally nothing to add to the conversation, that way to the door >
Where's your sense of humour?
Seriously...I would have steered clear of Stuff fibre from the get-go (but that's my personal preference) until they built up a reputation of some sort.
Another thing I remembered, which is worth a laugh and no one will be surprised....
I had a play with their "safezone" functions, which is just a content filter.
As seen here:
Anyway, so there's a news filter there.
I turned it on and it blocked all major NZ news sites, apart from stuff.co.nz.
I told them about it via the live chat too, the ladies response was "oh?"
Anyway, tested it now and seems to have been fixed since, was still pretty funny though.
Overall the filters worked pretty poorly.
Weapons and violence filter didn't block guncity.co.nz but did block a smaller NZ gun store reloaders.co.nz
Health, Home & garden blocked one major NZ garden store and not another also.
Sex education filter?
First test to AKL from Napier this morning and we hit 900 first go on Spark using the Huawei.
Will sort the fritz out later this arvo.

not surprising really the HG659 is know to perform well at gigabit speeds
My point is changing from Stuff to Spark solved my speed issues. Regardless of what is know of the Spark router.
did you use the huawei on the stuff connection? are you comparing apples with apples?
you need to use the same router you used on the stuff connection before you can make a statement like that
Like I said in my other post, will get my fritz going in a few minutes.
so then dont make comments like this:

until you have actually proved it to be the case, because at this point you have proved nothing.
im going to lol so hard if you get the your stuff fibre speed with the firtz.
