Well doesn't this just smell like "sh** they notice, lets remove it"

@tripp Say what are you on about? 2d had this in place for a business reason and now they can remove the speed restriction

A business reason they did not tell paying customers they were doing and reduced speeds to a point where apps etc would not work but were still fine to charge full price and did not have it anywhere on their website. Even 2degrees on geekzone said it wasn't happening until vodafone came out with "it's not us".

This is like having sky tv or another provider limit video to 480p.

If a company is going to add "restrictions" to their products they must be VERY clear about them.

@Spong Looks like 2d has made a good change to the D/L speed when roaming onto Vodafone anyone able to test? I can tonight when driving home

This is great news. It's a pity lockdown means we can't get over to Great Barrier Island yet to try this.

A couple of weeks ago I finally managed to test 2Degrees data speeds back in Claris, Great Barrier Island since the time I started this thread. Using a 2D SIM (roaming onto VF) I managed a peak speed of 10Mb/sec down and just under 1MB/sec up, but noticed that 4G was not being utilised still. With the same Galaxy S10, and a Kogan SIM (also using the VF cellsite) I managed approx 65Mb/sec down and 4G was clearly evident. So, a much improved performance for 2D compared to last time, but a pity they don't roam using 4G.
