Port your number for an extra free $5.00 credit, and register your detail for another free $3.00. So buying a Sim at a retailer for $2.00 gives you $10.00 credit pretty good really.

Nothing stopping you going back to telecom, getting a new number on your phone (free last time I did it) and then porting again for the bonus either.

$5 sim card still not working. Bought a $2 which worked straight away.
Signed up on the site which seems to hate firefox (repeatedly asked me to enter a new password), only to discover that only 0220 numbers are available =/
Still waiting on the phone i won to turn up.

I signed up to chinwag 7am the first morning it was available, got the txt 10am this morning and sim in today's mail so all in all very prompt, in the end no problem signing on, changed my number twice (f'd it up the first time) didn't seem to charge me $5 like it suggested so all good and got a primo number 0220 PH WADE so i am stoked! After another possible explanation of VF roam = no best mates i will run two phones for now, pay my $6/mth fav on CDMA Onebill and use the 2D for all other outgoing calls, win win other than having to carry two phones!

My SIM turned up today. As expected, it's almost unusable due to lack of Vodafone coverage in Hillcrest, Whakatane. I'll try it tomorrow when I'm at work but it doesn't look like I'll be switching properly any time soon.

Who are you currently with? You did surely realise your coverage was going to be identical on "2 Degrees" where you live?

I'm currently on XT. I switched to Telecom last year after moving into my current house, but I thought I'd give 2D a go because I'd heard that Vodafone had expanded the coverage here earlier in the year.

Eager to see if their reception is any better than Vodafone's over this side of the hill.. I suspect the big cellphone tower in the middle of the Wainuiomata carpark belongs to them. :)

Mail came today in the morning and got my 2D sim. All setup and working under VF roaming in Hamilton. Got an easy number by default from 2D on the sim pack which was good to see. Did couple of texts and they went fine.

Still going to use VF anyways. Prob will giveaway my 2D sim.

Do whatever you want to do man.
