langi27: 3G in Christchuch CBD, infact everywhere I've been in Christchurch seems to be covered.

I concur. Had a drive into CHC last night - 3G was everywhere Smile Then I had to go back home to Rolleston - fun GPRS times again Frown

Mauricio will be happy too... 3g is now in Johnsonvillee Wgtn, it Wasnt when I got to work this morning.

I bet they are opening up to get ready for the end of month when VF get the iPhone 4/re-signs... Funny that this was mentioned in the papers but no body really noticed. So yeah I would say that 3G Plans will be out in 2 weeks =]

yeah my guess is they want to launch it at the same time as (or just before) the iPhone4 to get the halo effect of the apple bublicity and try and capture as many customers a possible.

something like a 250MB or 300MB plan for $10-$15 would go down very well with iPhone customers I reckon

I predict multiples of $6...

$6 = 50 mb
$12 = 512 MB
$22 = 1GB

Or something like that... It seems like this because of their 44/22c

If those were correct they would be getting $12 a month from me every month just on data ...

I have to concur, I think the switch is about to get thrown, in fact I doubt it will get turned off in CHCH now.  We're just waiting for Central AKLD to go live ...

I doubt they'll sell 512MB for $12.. But if they did, hell yeah i'm porting my vodafone number straight over. To hell with being stuck with two phones! (Desire for Data, 2730 for txt/calls)

Still showing "E" on my phone here in Lambton Quay, so no 3G yet for downtown Wellington :(

It looks like they are moving across the regions in a site by sit not randomly. Wellington started up kapiti/porirus area and Auck/CHCH seems the same... shouldn't be too long.

More progress in AKL. Coverage has now extended to all of Auckland City excluding the CBD. I guess either CBD or North Shore will be next to get 3G.

Yep 3G in Burnside ChCh at the mo' and has been most of the afternoon from what I can tell Laughing

The switch to 3G may explain why my 2degree phone was experiencing intermittent signal loss early (5am) a week ago 9/7/10? Frustrating when trying to organise Metallica tickets..Yell
