Yes, when roaming on VF my prepaid gets 3G coverage where it exists.

Did anyone who signed up get the correct balances?

I've just signed up and my balances are wrong

Your current balances
NZ minutes(72 mins will expire on 23 September 2011) 72 mins
Bonus minutes(100 mins will expire on 23 October 2010) 100 mins
Texts(360 msgs will expire on 23 October 2010) 360 msgs

Aren't there supposed to be 120 nz minutes and 600 text messages? This is a new unused sim

Just to confirm, customers who sign up between 17th September - 25th September will get 18 days worth of usage (i.e. 72 minutes, 360 texts) as the plan fee will be pro-rated depending on how many days it is until the start of the Billing cycle on the 4th October.

Anyone who joins from 26th September – 3rd October will get 9 days worth of usage (i.e. 36 minutes, 120 texts) and the plan fee will be pro-rated depending on how many days it is between the day you signed up and the 4 October.

Note though that the bonus minutes are not tied to bill day, so you receive the full amount immediately!

I purchased a Pay Monthly Sim card today, went through the proper procedure for registering. All went well until the credit check area where I was told my Drivers Licence details were wrong. They are exactly as they appear on my licence, but 2deg say it is wrong. Rang customer services (where you get to speak with a very pleasant Kiwi!!) and was told that the version number (5b) on my licence was probably wrong and that I will have to get in touch with LTSA to get it put right. Bearing in mind that I have had the licence for over 30 years, during which time it has been used constantly for all kinds of identification without problem, I find this rather hard to believe.
Have had to go back to vodafone tonight to top up another $20 so I can have much needed cell coverage for the weekend after carefully running the old $$$s out before porting to 2Deg....grrr.
Has anyone else struck this problem?

Hi, can you PM me if NZTA verify your drivers license are correct. Please include your 2d # and full name.

Just a word of warning for people wanting to move their number over and go onto Pay Monthly. Make sure you make the move to Pay Monthly BEFORE you port your number just in case the credit check gets refused in which case you will find it a hassle and costly (you may have to buy a new VF or TNZ SIM to move your number back).

Well I got approved online for pay monthly and have been using 2D on the 022 number for the past few days. So far so good - calls quality is good, coverage seems good and I was able to do data okay. Did a run using Google Maps navigation using my N1 and data was coming in regularly.

I think I will bite the bullet today and switch my VF number over.

LTSA have verified the licence as being all good but still no luck trying to register. I have PMd 2degrees Care above. Hopefully all will be resolved!

OK - switched my number across today. From the time I clicked OK it was about 90 minutes or so and it went in stages. Firstly my 2D SIM starting to send my VF number as the CID but when I rang the number the VF phone would ring. Then it all switched over. Nice.

But one hiccup so far. Twice today (on my N1) I was in an area where apparently 2D has no service. One place was in the fourth floor of a parking building in Wellington, the other on the Onslow Road. Both times when I should have regained service, the phone did not lock onto the 2D network. I had to manually search for the network and select it. I hope that this is just a hiccup because if it happens regularly I think I am going to switch back. Extra minutes are nice but if the phone won't pick up the network after being out of area, then that's a deal breaker for me.

for some reason the same thing happen on my android phone after i swapped to a different simcard while i was overseas. after a few times of switching on / off, it locked and searched for the correct network well. Same thing happen again when I changed back to 2degress simcard in NZ.

I find there is something a bit odd with 2Deg 3g Signal . I have a Motorola 3g ( 2100Mhz ) phone which was bought in Italy . Its not locked to any network . It finds Voda 3G perfectly on auto or manual as it does on 900 2g
But the 3g refuses to work on any of the 2Deg sites, I have tried manual and auto settings with no success .

Hi, not received the PM yet. Did you manage to get it working?

Kiwisteve - Regarding the 3G signal on the Italian Motorola phone, can you send me a PM with your 2D #, the model # and location where you're not getting our 2100 3G signal.

Completely off topic, but is there a list available online which shows which other areas 2degrees is intending to roll out their 3G broadband network to (allowing purchase of the bigger data packs outside Auck/Wgtn/Chch/Queenstown)?
