How do we find out if we're on a EUBA plan? My connection has mysteriously improved a massive amount in the last week. Is this something that Tier 1 helpdesk support would answer or would only someone like Sounddude (who seems to be on the inside) know?

A quick call to the help desk should be able to answer your question failing that I spose you could always PM SoundDude with your username and request

I rang the helpdesk.

They said I was on UBA. They said as far as they know, for residential customers, there is only UBA and LLU.

I looked in my 'My Orcon' and it said 'UBS' settings.

Bit of a mystery really. I just hope that the good speeds stay!

I also noticed a massive improvement in my download speed.  Used to get 4mbps peak and 12mbps off-peak.  Now I'm getting 14~17mbps downloads.

Not personally, but I look after the team that does. How can I help?

How is the uptake of Orcon SIP trunks? I'm particularly interested in call quality of this solution, and the features that Orcon offers as a VoIP provider. I can't find much info about this, whereas iTalk, 2talk, world xchange, etc., have quite a bit of detail.

Thank you.

I'm getting terrible speeds lately. It only started last weekend. It was good in the morning, but slow in the afternoon. Anyone else having this problem again ? Should I move to Tcom?

Hi Art

Looking at your line stats, it would seem you are only syncing at 3mbit and have a poor attenuation. You are on the edge of the cabinet zone, so you should be getting about 10mbit of sync.

Log a fault call with the helpdesk to get your line investigated. Perhaps try an isolation test to see if the sync speed improves.

(When i say your on the edge, your next door neighbour is due to go on the cabinet in Sept, but not you :( )

Not sure what happened.

Thanks Sounddude, I think I will apply some firmware upgrade and see it that helps.  If that does not improve my modem sync speed, I'll log a fault to helpdesk and see if they can check my line and hopefully get it to 10Mb/s as you mentioned.
