Whatever it is, if you are in WLG remember to register - and attend - the event!

It's a unique opportunity, for Geekzone users only.

Yeah, I was thinking that if it's being held in Wellington then it's highly likely to involve either Snapper or Xero.

I'm hoping 2degrees will announce the immanent availability of the Huawei Ascend P1 (specs). Its been announced for a May release in AU. AMOLED and native ICS. Whats not to like.

You're clearly getting 2d confused with the network that is deploying this.

Well the network other than 2d in NZ that is deploying LTE now. You work in the industry, you should know! Smile

For those that have talked about it what's so great about the Ascend??? Those specs are only marginally better than some of the other top model phones on the market (some of which have been around for quite some time (in tech terms)). There's other phones coming out such as the quad core models that are bound to put the Ascend to shame (or at least you'd expect them too lol).

I don't see anything on those specs that would equate to a NZ Tech first unless you want to count the Dual-core 1.5 GHz Cortext-A9 running the thing which is the only 1.5 dual core phone out at the moment (I think).

I would be a little dissapointed if the new tech is a High End phone alone I would like to see high end phone + something else making it even more special than your Optimus 2x's or SGS II or other top end phones.

Lets be realistic how likely is it a NZ first tech release is going to be just some high end phone that's already out there in the rest of the world not very it's going to be that little extra that defines it and as most have guessed at it's most likely to do with the NFC side of things.
