I'm starting to think they're going by letters of the alphabet, not first-come-first-served basis.

I am not impressed with 2o coverage here - shows as full signal but I made a call to use the 22c rate and the other person could hardly hear me despite it showing full signal. Looks like they have the same lying signal meter technology that vodafone have on GSM

Hi where is here? I take it you are using 2° own towers (not roaming on vodafone)

Did you try and talk louder (that was a joke comment!)

Try the phone in other places tommorow, is the phone a good one( like not faulty)?

Lying signal meter? Uh, I think you just need a new phone.

kfella2000: I have mine turned on on my N95 and New Plymouth usually shows up on the main screen about a third of the way down on the right hand side

ok, well nothing shows at all other then the normal home screen stuff.

Will have another handset on tuesday to try one in and will let you know how it goes.

I started using my N95 with a 2degrees simcard today and low and behold New Plymouth showed up again so cellinfo does show on 2degrees. But in saying that down here we are roaming on Vodafones network so I wouldnt know if cellinfo will show up if you are on one of 2degrees cell sites.

My surname starts with V, got my card yesterday in the mail and worked fine.  I'm in Auckland.  Had setup my account and selected the new number I wanted before their on-line system went down ;-).

In beach haven so yes, on 2° own towers -

phone is a 3 day old N97 so no, not a phone issue, and it gives me good performance on vodafone.

It just seems that the signal meter is wrong, just like on vodafone in many places where it shows as full, but simply putting your hand over the antenna of the phone is enough to make it start to break up and drop to nothing.

Compare with telecom cdma where it will actually go up and down as you move the phone around, and when its on one bar it usually works ok. I have used vodafone gsm a few times over the last couple of days since the handset is in dual mode now to the 2° sim will work and it has also just sat on full signal when using the vodafone gsm on a call.

I sure hope not too many go missing courtesy of NZ Post. The Envelopes were branded I think.
