bameron: Hi guys,

I have no dates available to me as to when the new plans will be announced. I know that the team are currently reviewing the service features and pricing of our non-Genius residential plans and that we are getting closer to a release.

Cheers,

Cam

It is a real shame that it's taking so long. I have also given notice to cancel after several years of good service, the last 8 months have been a nightmare. Six months of emails and complaints with Orcon denying I had speed issues, then when I post on thier Facebook page, I finally get answers and my speed issue was resolved. I've also complained about the pricing and have given Orcon lots of oppotunity to keep my custom. The retention team offered very liitle for me stay, in fact the best they could offer was around $125 a month for the same data when there are others offer double for much less... I am now counting down the days of my 30 day notice and have signed with Snap on the VDSL2 service and I'm keeping my POTS too.

Had enough.

Started with Slingshot today. Paying $20 less for 20GB more than I had on my plan with Orcon. [go figure].

Yet to assess speeds and service.

(Mod edit : Refer to companies by their correct name - XPD)

I just had to give my 30 days notice. I'm moving house and all Orcon could offer was Genius with less data (30GB) at more cost ($75) than the Bronze plan special I'm on now. I said I'd stay if they could give me more data for that $75, but they can't.

It's a shame really because their net side has been pretty consistent. The phone side was a bit of a nightmare with problems calling local numbers.

And now the hunt for a new provider begins.

Brief update - STILL not connected. After various delays and issues it turns out my Linksys WAG200G modem doesn't cut it for Slingshot. Awaiting them sending me thier modem and i'll see what happens.

I have gone to Slingshot. Got a good deal on data (200GB) and phone for cheaper than I'm paying now on Orcon. Shame Orcon was so inflexible with retension because I would have stayed otherwise.

Yeah same as me. I think they've added that extra 30gb pack by mistake.

Snackos: For what?

They allegedly sent someone to baycorp, but it was allegedly an admin error. They appear to have cleared it up in the end.ISPs being mentioned in a TV program seems to help these TV programs rate well.
