Got a text tonight to say they haven't forgotten about me and my Chinwag sim would be arriving before Saturday 15th at the latest. The message didn't say what month (or even year) it would be arriving though.

What an absolute joke of a promotion. "sign up early for out 'spectacular' launch and we'll send you out a sim at least a week after you could have brought one..."

Maybe it's because my surname begins with "W" and they, like all the rest of the sheep, start everything off from the beginning of the alphabet. Fits in with the advertising I suppose "yes, even ewe..."

2 Degrees I'm sending you a return text - save yourself a little bit of postage and don't bother sending my sim.

Wow, you're bitter that a product a company is sending you free of charge isn't in your mailbox already?

I'd hate to see what you're like when you're actually paying for something..

Regarding delay in delivery, all those SIMs have to go through NZ Post. About 1 to 2 years ago I suddenly noticed my mail getting delivered only every 2nd day. My theory is that NZ Post cost cutting means they speed up the moving of mail to the distribution centres, then one postie covers a larger area by delaying some mail within the standard 3 days delivery time frame. This means Tuesday's mail might arrive only Friday even if it is only across town.

Also if you take bulk mail to NZ Post and they consider it too much and will overload their systems, they can decline it and tell you to come back another day (same as a shop can decline you paying $1000 in 10c coins). I recon that is part of the reason why 2D say it will be up to 10 days to deliver (and presumably that is 10 business days). It's been only half a week.

Not bitter at all, just saying it how it is - which is what I do.  They should have had a much better system in place to ensure that all those who displayed an early interest got the sims no later than a day after after launch.

It's a badly run promo and I've lost interest.

Finally got my text as I was heading home yesterday. Should be in my mailbox Today, but I'm too lazy to go out on the driveway and check it...

Everyone in the family has recieved a text that they ahve not forgotten about it, rather then a sim arriving.

Poor planning IMO.

I think it's disaapointing when they imply those who take the time to sign up for Chinwag are the last to get their SIM cards.
Is there an alterior motive?

There is a suggestion that the change of texts, from saying that your sim has been sent to now saying that you haven't been forgotten about, is because the posting out of the sims is on hold until the web issues are resolved. The rationale is apparently that a backlog of people all trying to log in and port, or change their number, could cause a whole lot of new issues when the site goes live again.

I still haven't received my Sim card, and got the text like 3 days ago! So I just purchased a @2.00 sim card and oh my gosh! 2degrees is awesome in my point of view, I've only done texting but it's yeah awesome, I just have to remember my mobile number (dunno if I am going to keep on using this number or use the one that's coming in the mail)
