Just saw over on NBR. So who's gonna be? Telecom? Vodafone? Can there be anyone else insane enough to buy an ISP in NZ?

Interesting, indeed.

As an Orcon customer I am very interested. Not sure whether I should be concerned, delighted or neutral!

been on the grapevine for quite some time, made me smile when I read Mr Barletts comments from here when he knew what was going on .... never trust a marketing guy ... hard to merge when getting sold off Wink

Our office sweepstake on this is rather interesting

This comment "Margin Pressure" also cracked me up from the guys trying to race to 0 margin with pricing, setting prices without knowing the full cost sets bad expectations.

Mr Bartlett has recently spoken to NBR about the complications of the retail ISP market as it stands today, with margin pressure, a lack of clarity over the future of Chorus copper line pricing, and tension over who bares the cost of UFB connections, which could prove tricky even with subsidies.

Interesting indeed.

As long as the new owner looks after there customers and fixes the internet issues I'm happy. I wonder if they don't have enough money to invest in there infrastructure hence they selling....They have been having issues since Jan 2013 so exciting times ahead!

I hope it gets purchased by a teir one provider. It's profit wasn't that large. Wonder why they have't thought of floating the on the NZX. I guess it is one way of selling part of a SEO without a public backlash
