Rather a niggly problem with the NF4V router - wondering if anyone else has hit this.

Am running a web server behind my Orcon UFB connection.

When setting up the "Virtual Server" - the router advises something like "since you're running this server on Port 80, the router's admin web server will shift to port 8080" - I say OK to that and check the box to "Enable Loopback" so I can talk to my webserver from inside using its domain name URL instead of its local internal IP. (Useful if you want to cut-and-paste URLS to email deep links into it!)

Problem comes if I need to restart the router. The settings are all maintained, as below:

But - after restarting, the router's internal web interface comes back up on Port 80 as well as 8080 - it doesn't seem to remember that the loopback is turned on. If I try to hit the site by its URL from inside, I instead get the router's prompt for the admin UID and PWD.

If I then DELETE and RE-ADD the Virtual Server, it goes back to working fine.

Anyone else hit this?

I have the same issue, my work around (until the issue gets fixed one day) is to use host file entries e.g. www.example.com   192.168.20.15

OK cool so it's not just me then!

There's a family photo library on that site, so capturing URLS to deep link is important... I'd thought of setting up host files - too much stuffing around with problems like this has a detrimental effect on the Spousal Acceptance factor of running a site!

On that.... maybe they don't know about it!

I've already reported another problem with that router - the dynDNS implementation doesn't work. (Am using ddclient as a workaround)

I tried reporting it awhile back but haven't heard anything back. For my purposes the HOST file entries work fine, if I had multiple domains & machines I agree that would be a pain to manage.
I don't seem to have any issues with the DynDNS implementation.
