Hey all,

Just found Aussie Channel Nine FTA on Optus D1.

You can find it here:
12381 Vertical
3750 SR

Note - DVB-S2 receiver required.
Scan comes up with the name L-Bird1.

Interestingly, programs come through fine, however whenever it goes to a commercial break it blanks out for the duration of the break.
I'm guessing this is a feeder broadcast for regional re-broadcasts, and the regional breakout station would insert their ad's into the blank spots.

PS: Receiving on my 90cm dish, at about 80% signal strength (here in the Tron - city of the future)

Also, it is the Backhaul for Nine. hence why there is no commercials.

I don't have a DVB-S2 receiver to try and get it, but upon searching, that there came up as what was described in the OP.

Thanks for keeping this quiet for so long!
You've saved me from a lot of pain and anguish as England lost the Ashes!
But I'm tuned in now and hoping for better things from the Sydney Test...
(shame that Gem and Go haven't returned also)

I am really enjoying the Ashes series without the ad breaks. Reminds me of how we used to watch cricket on the BBC in the sixties!
Thanks for the very useful posting UncleArthur.
