Has anyone here purchased (or) used this device here in NZ, i am currently looking at it as it has the slot for a cam (which i presume you can put your sky card into)

By the looks of this in the demonstration video they have i think it should work (kinda answering my own question)

If it has a CAM slot, then you'll need a Sky CAM to go with your card - never seen such a thing though.

The CAM is different to your Sky Card. What you have pictured above is a CAM with a Smart Card next to it.

You're right in general. A tuner + CI slot + CAM + smartcard => decrypted TV on a PC

However, I'm with RunningMan. This is probably not a good solution for Sky NZ.

There may be one or two CAMs out there that can decrypt NDS/videoguard, but I reckon you'd be better off with a solution like this:

Tuners with CI slots are more expensive than other tuners. AVerMedia CI slots mainly only work in AVerMedia's own software... which is not very good. CAM's are expensive and aren't guaranteed to work in all CI slots. "Hard" CAMs are also more restrictive (in terms of the number of channels you can decrypt) than using a card reader solution.
