I bought this Freeview twin tuner receiver on trademe for a Xmas present. Appeared in very good condition and advised no problems by the seller. It's recording without any problem but on playing back, the programme is skipping/jumping slightly every few seconds. Very frustrating and hard to watch. Is there anything I can do to fix this?

It is also happening when using the Time Shifting function, if this helps anyone diagnose the problem. Please help!

Which firmware version does it have? also there should be a menu somewhere for checking storage device. As you may have a corrupted HD

I have had a similar problem with my Ultraplus F9000 since it was new:  it is annoying and very occassionally unwatchable when I have to turn the power off at the wall and restart it.
Is is possible to " clean-up " the hard drive without losing reoorded files?

The storage device check won't delete anything

I have also discovered that turning it off at the wall and back on again has fixed the problem (temporarily?!).  I have had to turn it off and on again several times also when the programme info is missing from the EPG.  Could get very annoying if this continues.  Will have to wait till my son comes to stay to check other settings as suggested tho being a techie himself, I am sure he will have set it all up correctly several weeks ago.

Have you contacted your dealer, and made sure your firmware is current?

As mentioned earlier to you, the dealers website is ultrapower.co.nz. You will find the most recent firmware on this site if you wish your son to install new software.
