Just bought a Twh s1 at the warehouse, was in clearance for only nzd 50.
However, I get no picture at all. The box is connected with a at cable to my LG TV which keeps saying "no signal".
The box responds to the remote and says Menu. If I reboot it, it will say EPTY.

Tried with satellite cable connected and disconnected. Anything to try?

I havent looked the model up. Somewhere in menu should be settings for the LNB. if it is at 11300 try setting it to 10750 or vice versa

What sort of cable is "a at" cable"?
Presumably if you can see the Menu you are using composite, component or HDMI cable?

OK.
Then as Gilco2 said, there are some incorrect settings. You need to go into the menu and check the Frequency set for your LNB and make sure it matches the LNB on the dish.
It should be 11300 or 10750. Whichever one is set try the other one.

sorry must have misunderstood your first post where you said the box responds to the remote and says menu.
Maybe you meant to say doesnt respond to remote or show menu.
If you have it connected correct, that is yellow cable to yellow on decoder and yellow on tv and same with the audio cables, and have definitely got the TV on the correct AV setting and still not getting a picture with the decoder on, then yes take it back.

no need to change LNB on these , just go to factory reset, it has auto LNB

model has no av in, only av out.

he means have you plugged the av cables to the AV in on the TV.
Most new TVs only have AV in but some only a few years old still have AV out and you dont plug yOUR leads in those

It's av in for sure on the TV. It's a brand new LG TV.

In fairness to the posters who tried to help you, you did say you could get "menu".

Obvious thoughts (in order):
1. Check the TV is set to the correct input.
2. Double check the cable is connected correctly (to AV-In on the TV, yellow-to-yellow, red-to-red etc).
3. Try something else (DVD player, old VCR...) on the exact same AV input.
4. Try with another cable, it might be faulty.
5. Try the unit with another TV.
5. Return the unit.

Some more questions which might help diagnose your problem

What sort of satellite dish do you have?
How have you connected the dish to the STB?
How have you connected the STB to the TV? Presumably from your comments so far - yellow, red, white on the STB AV out to yellow, red, white on TV AV In?
Have you selected AV In on your TV menu?
Finally are you in a Freeview Satellite only area? If you have a new TV and are in a FreeviewHD area you don't need a STB, only a UHF antenna.
