I share a Satellite dish with my neighbour(single LNB with external splitter), and when he disconnected Sky TV earlier this week, I lost signal on my STB (a very basic Digistar)

When he connected Sky TV (a few years ago) same thing happened but I just did a reset/scan on the STB and the channels appeared again(I remember it was something about the polarity in the TP settings)

This time I am having no such luck.

Anyone knows the best way to approach it?

The reason we are sharing, is the dish is on top of his roof, as we are on a duplex property, and my flat roof is too low to get a reliable signal. He also says he's not using the antenna ... using a streaming service.

What type of splitter are you using to between the dish and your satellite boxes? It is possible the LNB is not getting any power, as only one side of the splitter will be labeled 'power pass'. Change over the cables at the splitter and the problem may be solved.

OK .. I will have to climb his roof to check.

As I remember the neighbour didn't have a TV back then so I'm not sure if it applied.

Also ensure LNB power is on in your STB.

Couldn't get on the roof (need a longer ladder ... gonna get one tomorrow), but I did take my STB to my neighbours place to test it.
It also had the same issue with no signal (and yes I had LNB power set to "on")

Could Sky have done something to the LNB? (it doesn't look anything special)

If it doesn't work at the neighbours, it suggests it isn't powering the LNB.

Easy test would be to bypass the splitter if you can to test.

And maybe tell us what polarity is set in the transponder settings.
