Why does the Freeview schedulers decide to put such a HUGE lead in and end time with scheduled programmes.

The reason I ask this as with two tuners you sometimes have a challenge of recording two programs especially if during "handovers" due to these massive lead in's and ends of programs where the recorder can sometimes be recording for like 15 minutes....it makes EPG and programme scheduling a nightmare as I regularly run into clashes and error messages where it tells me there are already two programs being recorded....there usually isn't its just the lead in/out being so long...

Sort it out Freeview....!

Nothing to do with the EPG schedulers. It's a recorder function.
You should be able to change these times from the defaults. I have my Panasonic set to start 1 minute before and end 5 minutes after EPG schedule. If I get conflictions due to consecutive programs overlapping I use Timer record.
