Hi

I've recently moved into a place which has a sky dish. I purchased a flame Sat receiver from trade me.

I plugged it in and it worked fine. I turned it off and next time I used it it said no signal on all channels.

I put it down to a faulty unit and got another. This one did the same thing.

I factory reset it. Added a new satellite for the d1. Set lnb to 10750 and 22khz to off.

Searched for channels ( after seeing up all the transponder details) 12483/22500 for freeview. It has a bunch of other transponders already loaded too.

The only channel it gets is lbird1. If I turn on 22khz, then I get the optus test channel. I'm after tv1,2etc.

I notice that these are the only vertical channels. There horizontal ones don't work.

Does anyone have any ideas??

The most probable is a failing LNB that won't switch to horizontal - the fix is a replacement LNB.

Having said that, there are several other (free) things to check first.

1) Make sure the receiver is outputing 18v on horizontal, not locked to V or 14v polarity (LNB settings).

2) Poor connection to the dish (corroded join etc.) causing voltage drop below 18v.

3) Skew (rotation) of the LNB is out due to a loose bracket or even high wind.

4) If this is an apartment, a multiswitch somewhere holding the polarity at vertical.
