Having just lost $200 after purchasing a dstv dsr2 with an (un-advertised) faulty tuner, I would truly like to hear of a reliable product.

Does anyone have a dual tuner satellite receiver which is without major issues?

Thanks

RunningMan:

Try the VuPlus series.

Yeah +1 for the Vu+  units.

I've had a Vu+ Solo2 (Dual DVB-S2 tuners) for over 3 years now and it's been rock-solid, running 24/7 without a single issue. They take a little bit of setup (it's not that difficult!) but once that's done it just works!

Just make sure you find a genuine unit. I hear there are some fake Chinese ones that are unreliable like most other boxes out there. I imported mine from France (might be able to get a good deal out of the UK at the moment with the Pound so low!).

Great, and thanks!

as for reliable, the only place I can find these for sale in NZ is via Skykingman. Can anyone vouch for this business? Is there a way of guaranteeing that the unit is genuine?
