Hello All,

Help please :)

I've just recently moved house and I've plugged my freeview into the wall and I can only pick up TV3. All other channels say no signal.

This is the same freeview box in my old house it worked fine.

I've tried scanning other satellites but no luck.

Make: Dish TV
Model: DVB-S6800PLUS

Location: Belmont, Lower Hutt

Settings
Satellite Name - Optus D1_KU
Longitude (x10) - 17.4E
LNB Freq1 - 10750
LNB Freq2 - 10750
LNB Power - Auto
LNB 22kHz - off
DiSEqC Switch - DisEqc1
Postioner - Disabled
0/12 volt - 0
Program type - All
Transponder - 12456
Search - Auto

Has any one had this problem before?
Is it my dish that isn't pointing the right direction or is it my settings on the decoder?

I would suggest adjusting the LNB high settings to 113000 and rescanning. Possibly a 113000 head not just 10750

If the LO was incorrect , he wouldnt get any channels, more likely the LNB has drifted

Have you tried scanning other transponders or only 12456?

That's why I'm confused why would I only pick up one I thought it would be all or nothing. Not sure what you mean by the LNB has drifted.

I've tried a whole bunch of different combinations.

Tried 12483 also and that seems to pick up TV3 only also.

Also if I change my longitude to 160.0E it only picks up TV3.

The longitude/Satellite selection has no effect to a fixed Sky dish. Its pointing at 1 bunch of sats in the sky (cant be moved with a motor when selecting a different one), and 1 type of LNB stuck on the dish (not 3-4 heads to adjust)

The keys, are selecting the correct LNB head settings, and then doing a TP scan if possible. Drift, means what may say 15685 online, may to your LNB be on 15678. Close, but not as expected. So won't be found at the 'right' settings

Got it, thanks for that.

I've managed to pick up channel four now also with changing the LNB to universal.

No luck on tv1 or tv2 though.

Try altering the LNB Freq up or down 5mhz at a time. i.e. 10755, 10760 or 10745, 1074.

If that works then you have LNB drift and it needs replacing. TVNZ is often first to disappear with LNB drift due to aging.

My daughter had same thing happen after moving .... just a couple of channels and nothing else. We found that the sat dish and LNB had been sitting for a considerable time unused, so after much trial and tribulation (reseating cables, resetting skew etc) we simply purchased a new LNB and it immediately flew high and straight

Done that already, did a factory reset.

Did nothing.

Awesome that sounds like what I should do.

Probably best to go for a single-throat 11300 LNB thesedays

I got mine from the Freeview Shop (known source and warranty etc), plus an adapter bracket because the dish had the old style dual-throat Sky LNB on it.

Very easy to install if you can access the roof and dish safely. Usually just one cable to unscrew (clean the contacts before re-connecting is a good idea and check rubber boot is still water proof etc). Skew instructions are on the Freeview web site (slightly different for a single than the old dual models). The mounting bracket bolts into existing holes/slots, needs only a crescent wrench for fitting.
