Hi, my uncle lives in Brisbane and is wondering if he would be able to pick up the NZ freeview channels from there? Any help?
Thanks

With a 3 to 10 metre dish maybe but given spot beam only covers NZ it will be difficult. Certainly NOT with standard 65 cm dish.

Spark Max Fibre using Mikrotik CCR1009-8G-1S-1S+, CRS125-24G-1S, Unifi UAP, U6-Pro, UAP-AC-M-Pro, Apple TV 4K (2022), Apple TV 4K (2017), iPad Air 1st gen, iPad Air 4th gen, iPhone 13, SkyNZ3151 (the white box). If it doesn't move then it's data cabled.

Or maybe if you give ground antennas a go, but not sure if they have been tested at UHF frequencies.

Does the same go for Aussie channels over here?

I have heard reports of people being able to pick up the aussie channes apart from the known Aurora stuff you can pick up off C1 with a 65CM, all the other Aurora channels I think can be picked up with ~3.2 Meter dish not that I have tried or know, it's just due to the fact that Aus is a bigger country so they need a much larger area to transmit to, whereas with NZ, they are able to have a lower power more directional beam, from what I have read.  A guy in Sydney did say he once picked up the Freeview stuff with a 4 Meter dish.  Vetrun is a good place to discuss this sort of thing.
