hey guys

i have a problem, well kinda,

through redemption i got a Samsung DVD HR755
however i have searched for reviews over the net and found that it is not digital but analogue.
how iwill this effect em if i get sky or freeview?
can i still use it for recording tv shows and etc and will it still look alright

please help me would be great

Without looking at the physical connections to your recorder yes to some degree you will be able to record sky/.freview on you recorder. By plugin in the recorder via coax aerial to the sky/freeview or by connecting the recorder to sky/freeview by the internal input ports on you recorder.

This will require sky/freeview set top box to be on the correct channel you want to record.

In terms of quality, it should be similar to what you see on tv.

Now if you're talking Freeview HD then that's a whole differnt kettle of fish.....

so the tv will have to be on the right channel to record which sucks lol. is there no way around this?
also will i be able to schedule when to record etc??

what is this about freeview hd? im guessing i can use the samsung with this?

is there any recorders out there where i can record one sky channel and watch another?

i was wondering why this is free. sounds like more hassle then it is worth and its free lol

Your unit only has SCART input, so you are out of luck with FreeviewHD as all the recievers have HDMI output.

can you not use a scart to hdmi convertor cable? i know their would be loss in quality but could be a solution

For godsake. SCART is analog, hdmi digital, i.e., they aren't compatible.

oh im sorry i didnt realise we were philosiphying about god please enlighten me
why would i want to know about scart as it is basically obsolete isnt it
now back to the question at hand. it only has a scart input so in essence im f*&^d unless i get sky and still then its pretty much useless. am i in the right direction here
