Wait until it arrives, then come back here with details of your setup - specifically details of your satellite dish(es), and I'm sure it won't be too difficult.

Hope its not a clone as that sounds pretty cheap,
one i was looking at was almost 200 pounds plus shipping

It's not brand new. I have been careful to avoid clones. But a bit of a gamble really. I'll let you know how I go.
I have just bought a Vu+ Duo2 from the UK. I live in Christchurch so have DVB-T tuners installed. But some of the similar items are in the setup. Here are some of the items I found useful when setting up my box.
Go to Vuplus-shop.co.uk and download a manual for the Solo. Print out.
Try and get a manual for the version of the Image that is installed, if you know this before the box arrives.
If you are not familiar with linux and/or the Enigma kernel then download a glossary of terms.
Learn how to Flash the box so that you can install an updated image if required.
Have a look on YouTube for setup videos of the Vu+ range to get familiar with some of the screens.
You will probably need an FTP program to load/install some files. So if you don't already have one; then download a free version & learn how to use.
Go to World-of-satellites.co.uk and check out the downloads & forums for helpful details.
Get a download of the picons for the satellite feeds. Australian/Sky/NZ Satellite Picons are available from http://www.austech.info/showthread.php/69526-Optus-D1-SkyNZ-Freeview-Picons . These are Provider ICONS that help jazz up the EPG. These can be installed at a later time.
It is suggested best practice to use a USB stick to store the EPG data and picons. It ahas to be formated to FAT32 or you can format it via the box to linux ext3 or ext4.
You will also need a second USB stick (at least 4GB) if you want to flash a new image onto the box.
