hi been at my mums house today to fix her tv been its now the 3rd time in a year because the two wires that connect together one end going into the house other to the dish it has got wet and is a little rusted so i got a new male to female connector and took old ones off cut the wire and exposed a new peace of the copper wire inside the cable put the new male to female plugs on like i did the other 2 times and tv worked fine but this time it did not work i did get it to kind of work don't know what i did but it picked up all channels but tvnz channels but my mum thought she could fix it and made it worse now we get nothing but sometimes mediaworks channels will show up for like a split second

what can i do ??? and this time when i get it working im going to make sure it tucked away where it will never get wet again

Will be the LNB Skew most likely. Or moved too much during repair.

Time to bring up the signal meter and re-align with facetime or similar.

the cable that goes to the dish is like 6meters long and the other cable is going under the house to inside the house so i have not touched the dish or moved it at all

Did you use a crimping tool??

then what connectors have been replaced that are wet? Cause that describes you are doing work mid length and making 3 separate runs from LNB to tv

Remember for every connector added inline the signal can be dropped as much as .25dB. And F-connectors are NOT weathersealed internally (designed for inside use only)

So too many and your signal may be too degraded.

Doodle a pic up or do in ASCII so we get a better picture. IE LNB -> F-male -> F-Female - F-M -> F-F -> TV would be less than ideal.

when my mum had sky they connected one peace of cable to the dish another peace to inside the house then it was connected together outside with a male to female connector

the male to female connector that connected the two cables together was replaced
