Finally found some time to unpack and install a HVR-3000 I had purchased a few months ago. Alas it won't fit in my MB. Not wishing to use too much force I find that I can't fit the back panel through the open slot in the case (the top aerial connector gets in the way) and sit the card in the slot. So it's off to Trademe alas.

So next step is a USB solution. Just wondering how are folks finding the HVR 900, specifically using gbpvr for receiving and capturing the DVB-T broadcast? I had originally thought I could use the HVR 3000 to capture and record DVB-S also but I guess I will just stick with my PVR250 which works can capture the channels over TCL cable.

Try starting the inner most end into the slot first then kind of walk the outer end down. Most cases will also flex a little along the top edge without any harm which allows you to get the uppermost plug past.

Trust me it is possible without doing any damage to motherboard or case but it is a bit fiddily.

I have a Silverstone SG01 case which is for mini ATX MB's. The frame around the back is pretty inflexible so I am not sure I could do what you say without potential damage. And I just packed up the machine and put it back in the cabinet :(

I could try again but perhaps a USB solution would be less hassle - hence the question.

Is there any way you can mount the HVR-3000 on the MoBo before you screw the MoBo into the case?

The first computer I fitted the HVR-3000 to had a similar problem, but I took a more agricultural approach to it and just bent the case frame out fitted the card and then bent it back. However I can't really recommend this as it's never quite gone back into shape.

Too hard. One of the joys of compact cases! Anyway managed to sell the HVR-3000 for about what I paid for it so am now in the market for a HVR-900.

Also it looks like a ATI Sapphire HD 2600 XT apg card I purchased is going to be challenging to fit also :( And there is no USB solution for that!
