Is it possible to stream live tv to an xbox 360 without windows media centre?
I've used TVersity to stream video clips to my 360 but can it do DVB-T? And if so, would the 360 handle all the video processing?
I'm running windows xp on an old computer (on a tight budget) so if there's a way around upgrading my current hardware to get smooth video playback such as streaming to the 360 that would be brilliant!

Or is there an alternative to media centre? Like media portal? Does that stream live tv to an xbox 360?

I can't get media portal to connect to my 360 or even recieve the DVB-T channels when I scan for them, even though I've got them running on DVBViewer...

Make sure you're running mediaportal with tvserver. tvserver config is where you add the dvb-t channels.

About the 360, i think theres some 3rd party paid apps that might do it?

I've always assumed that this is not possible at the moment -- the Xbox kind of insists on finding Media Centre only. However it does beg the question -- could I record to my under-spec PC, and somehow convert to play on the Xbox? The 360 has no trouble playing HD -- after all, it has a HD player

and can cope with streamed HD content.

I'm particularly interested in recording some Olympics, just my chosen sport.

Yeah you can play your recorded tv on the xbox but it will only be as smooth as the original recording from your pc.
Playing HD content on your xbox is easy, all you need is a wmv or mp4 other compatible file and an external hd drive formatted to fat32 or HFS+ (good for files over 4gb).
I'm interested in getted live tv streamed to the xbox 360 and have it do all the grunt work. I still don't know if media portal will do it. Can anyone confirm this?
I'll probably just wait for tversity to release a version with live streaming, I'm not holding my breathe though!
