My Sony TV (KD55-X7000E) recently updated and bought the new Freeview on demand interface.

The problem I'm having is the new EPG and info overlay is usually showing an incorrect show/time (often shows from the previous morning in the evening, a varying amount of time behind). The TV itself knows the correct time, and the normal Sony EPG and overlay is always correct it's just the new Freeview one that's broken.

The below screenshot shows what I'm talking about, the Sony overlay (foreground) is correct but the Freeview one which you can just see is stuck back ~11 hours ago

Any ideas as to what's going on here? I can't see any settings to tweak and the time/timezone but they seem to be correct anyway

Same problem on my Sony A1.
Some times it is correct, but mostly it is wrong. When it is wrong it is off by different times. The time error is not consistant.

Logged an error with Freeview via https://freeviewnz.tv/support/contact-us/new_freeviewod_form/ about 3 weeks ago. They said they will look into it and have a talk with Sony. The app has updated since then but, is still wrong more often that not.

Exact same issue with my 49X8000D freeview website doesn't seem to work on mobile so will lodge a fault with them later.

I’ve got the same issue on the Sony KDL-40W660E, the built-in Sony guide is correct and same with the info pop up at the topic screen but the Freeview Plus mini guide and full TV guide are showing time approx 8 hours ahead and the order of the programs does not match the correct guide info.

KD-49X7000E and having the same issue. Two software updates on the last 2 days and neither have fixed it.

Seems this issue is still not resolved.

I have noticed with the freeview guide on both our old tv's and our old magic 3600 recorders show the guide out by about 11 hours for media works Channel's only. (3, 3+1, 3life bravo, bravo +1, edge).

When you press the guide button while watching a media works channel and the list for that channel comes up it is fine. If you press the guide button again to get the list of all chanels for the current programme and the following programe it is about 11 hours out.

If you do this while watching a tvnz channel it is fine for all channels.

All of our freeview tv's etc are far too old to have freeview on demand built in. This is just the standard terrestrial freeview guide. It's quite a pain as we used to use the feature often.

Assuming you guys have taken note and checked for/done the firmware USB SW update checks? (no OTA yet) Looks like the SOnys are full of issues

For TVs with model numbers containing X, Z or ending in A1, your firmware version should be PKG6.2858.xxxx or higher.
For TVs with models numbers containing W, your firmware version should be PKG5.381.xxxx or higher.
If your TV is not up-to-date:

SONY has two firmware updates available and recommend that affected users download the firmware update to a USB drive and then manually update their TV via USB.

Check your model number so you download the correct firmware:

The old Freeview app worked.

The updated Freeview app has errors / bugs. Freeview appears to have released software without a lot of testing. At least for Sony TVs and Android TV OS

I have an Sony A1 and Firmware version is PKG6.2858.0082PAA, The Freeview app version is 1.1.7.3, And Guide errors have been occuring more often recently.

The TVs in built Guide is always correct, it is only the Freeviews app's Guide that is wrong.

All I can say is, If I released software targeted at a particular OS, with a Bug that makes most of its functionality useless, I would have been fired by now.

Edit: I have been communicating with both Freeview and Sony over the last month or so and they both shown interest in resolving the issues.

With that in mind and not downloading the full 1.6G.. wonder if it means there is a sub version and .100 is out over .0082?

Just added an edit to previous post.

At Sony's request I have supplied them with a lot of information from my A1.
Waiting to see what they recomend as the next step. I'm not going to try installing the updated unless Sony asks me too. They appear to have a plan so I'll stick to that for now.

However I will keep an eye on Sonys support page :)

The Freeview app updated on my TV yesterday. Now at version 1.2.95

So far the EPG and the Now next popup have been correct.

How do you find what version of freeview is on the TV?

I've got a Sony KD-55X8500E running the latest software version (PKG6.2858.0082PAA) and the newer freeview on demand app simply won't load at all (the mini guide at the bottom of the screen will not appear), this means no access to the on demand apps :(

The old version of freeviewplus was fine and when they did the upgrade to the new version it worked for quite a few weeks, but a few weeks back it just stopped loading altogether. I've rebooted the TV and followed some other suggestions to ensure that Digital Interactive apps are enabled (they are - also turned that off and back on), but still no luck.

Any help would be appreciated!

When viewing broadcast TV try pressing the green or red button from the 4 coloured buttons on your remote. One should bring up the EPG the other the Ondemand app. (Not home so can't remember which way round they are). If you have just turned the TV on give it a few minuites before you try.

If you can get the EPG or the Ondemand app to show, there is a settings menu (top right), go into settings, and the version of the app is at the bottom center of screen.

After the TV has been running for a few minuites, try pressing the OK button on the remote, this brings up the mini guide at the bottom for me.

Other wise go here https://freeviewnz.tv/support/contact-us/freeviewondemand_forms/ fill out the forms and make some noise. Could also try their fourm at https://freeviewforum.co.nz/

Great thanks I'll give that another go soon. Pressing the OK button (or the arrow buttons) used to bring it up, but has definitely stopped working. I knew I had to give it a few minutes. I'll try again soon though and if no luck I'll go follow your links.
