Hi,

I have the above card in my PC. Could someone please tell me what settings I need to use to receive Sky through it. I do not have a TV aerial, just a sky satellite dish but at the moment when I do a scan on the channels it does not poick up the signal.

Do I choose

Broadcast/Cable: AntennaVideo Format: PAL B/G

Any help please!!@

The Hauppauge 150 tuner card requires an aerial for reception. It cannot be used with a dish. Plus you won't be able to decode the Sky channels. That requires specific equipment -digital tuner with cams & smart card for the channel decryption.

If it's the PVR150 (not sure there is another 150 designation in the Hauppauge range) then certainly the tuner won't work. But the card has a MPEG2 encoder on board so it could take the composite video signal from the Sky box and record that.

Do you have a Sky decoder?
What software are you using to view TV?

As stated by the other posts, the PVR150 only has an analog tuner in it so can only take a signal from a VHF/UHF aerial to receive FTA TV. (Not DVB-T channels)
They also have AV inputs on the card so you can connect an output from another source i.e. a Sky decoder. This can be via the standard 3xRCA - Yellow, Red, White cable or s-video cable (S-video & red + white RCAs)

Opinions are my own and not the views of my employer.
