Hey all, we just moved the lounge around and plugged the TV into another socket across the other side of the room. When turning it on, most of the channels were missing and upon doing a new digital autotune, it only picks up 6 channels which are Three, Bravo, Threelife and their respective +1s.

What could cause this and how can we fix it?

We had trouble with channels originally and got a tech in who went up in the roof and did something and fixed it so we received all the freeview channels. Would have thought since then, everything would work in all the sockets around the house.

Socket doesn’t have an aerial connected?   I know here in wellington you can quite often get the media works transponder with no aerial plugged in.  This could be what you’re seeing.

Yeah either no connection to the aerial as mentioned above or the cable hasn't been terminated properly - had this a few times where it oddly works for some outlets but not all (usually due to indepentdant outputs though)

I'd say what the person did when you got them in was remove a splitter that sent the signal to all the sockets, and now the socket you have moved the TV to isn't connected to the antenna anymore.

Have you got TVs connected to any of the other sockets in the house?

Did you make sure to keep the TV upright when you moved it? If you tilted it beyond about 23-30 degrees there is a good chance some of the channels fell out of the RF port on the back. I would check around and under any furniture to see if you can find them there.

And remember that they are logical channels and not real.

If you rotate it along the z axis, then the channels fall out the component ports.

Thanks for the replies, and lmao yeah ill have to have a look under the cabinet to see if i can find the channels there. Likely what a few of you have answered about the socket being not connected is the culprit. Since i know nothing about getting up into the roof to have a look at where the things are, will try just buying a longer cable to running it to where the TV is now. But good to know it's something to look out for if any of the other sockets in the house are wonky, thank you
