We just bought the new Samsung Series-6 HD LCD TV with integrated Freeview HD tuner.  We're currently staying in Cedar Drive in Paraparaumu, and I can only get two channels (analogue at that).  I've been up on the roof and ensured the aerial was pointed at Waikanae (for the Ngarara transmitter), but that's made no difference.

Basically, it's like we're not getting any digital signal.  The only thing I can think of is that we've got a broken connection someone between the aerial and wall point, especially as TV3 and Prime (on analogue) are both a bit fuzzy.

Any suggestions anyone?

It's the LA32A650A1M.  I think it's really just come out.  What was really cool is that the equivalent Sony is on sale at Harvey Norman for $1770 whereas this sells for $1999, but the sales guy matched the Sony price for us Laughing.

As mentioned, Cyril came out and sorted us - turned out to be a couple of things wrong with the aerial.  All up and running now, and a beautiful quality picture.

Much kudos and mana to Cyril for coming around on a Sunday to help us out!  Cheers again. Laughing

By the way the first Sammy iDTV I have seen, normally sammys have far too ropey scaling and deinterlacing for my liking, but on a causal glance when fed with HD signals they seem pretty to produce some nice pics, and an attractive looking design to boot.

Cheers
Cyril

Glad you got it going.  Went to Harvey normand in Lower Hutt today and found these.  They had a ticket on them of LA32A640D, there was a 40" as well.  Couldn't see a 46".

Hi:

Is the Series 6 an iDTV?  I thought it only has a digital tuner, and the iDTV will be either from the Series 7 or 8 onwards, which is yet to hit New Zealand.

Also, checked out the Samsung NZ website, it does say the Series 6 has an intergrated diginal tuner built-in.  Can someone confirm?

Thanks.

HI Lugh was reporting a series 6 model with the extra IDTV, designated LA32A650A1M.  You can find these on the singapore site.

I saw one in Harvey normans yesterday listed as la32a650d, they also had a 40".

I was under the same understanding as you were, that it was only the series 8 onwards,.   But I guess not.  And yes looks like the Samsung site here hasn;t been updated - although you can find the manual from the model above - the a1m

iDTV - integrated Digital TV

Means it has a built in digital tuner.

Yes some of the new local Series 6 and even a couple of Series 5 units have freeview|HD tuners.

Hi:

Thanks for the post.  Yes I'm aware iDTV means integrated digital tuner.  And sorry my bad - in my original post I meant to say "I thought they only had analogue tuner, and iDTV from Series 7 or 8 onwards"...

But thanks for clearing the matter up anyway.  So it does appear some of the Series 6 does indeed come with integrated digital tuner then...

Cheers!
