Hi all, Just splashed out on new HDTV with Freeview built in. My existing UHF aerial is already cabled to the lounge but has standard coax cable plug. The Freeview website suggests I need a HDMI plug at the TV end. Does this mean I need to run a new type of cable from the UHF aerial to the TV?

nope, stanard coax and plug will be fine if you have a built in tuner.

I think the HDMI refers to the cable between a set top box decoder and the TV. You have an internal tuner, so dnt need the external box.

Yeah don't worry, every freeview HD tv or freeview hd set top box will want that same aerial plug that you currently have, no problems there.

The hdmi refers to the best way to connect a freeview hd set top box to the tv.

If you have a tv with freeview built in, then you don't need to worry about the hdmi cable/connection at all.

Thanks for the confirmation. Ahh..next challenge is that I have telstraclear digital decoder attached to the TV also (via DVD/HDD recorder). Is it possible to connect the TV (with built in Freeview) to both the decoder and the UHF aerial coax? Ideally I'd like to get TVs 1,2 & 3 in HD as the telstraclear decoder gives those channels in low D. I took one look at the cable snake pit and freaked out...

Yep, if the decoder has an aerial output you're set to go.
