I've used one of those cheap indoor splitters to split my UHF cable into 2, now my prime reception is snowy. If I plug the UHF direct its picture perfect.

Any ideas on what I can do or a better splitter? Does it need to be an amplified one?

Well Ive always preferd "Outdoor Splitters" as they are direct no plugs needed which cause extra loss,

Splitting standard UHF should be fine unless it is an already split signal

Its RG6 straight to the aerial outside. It is only affecting prime though, not freeview hd

What happens to the freeview signal levels when you remove the splitter, (you decoder or HTPC should be able to show this).

It maybe that you are receving reflections off local roofs etc, or just simply dont have enough signal strength to split the signal without an amp,

Is it a proper splitter or something from the dollar store that just connects all the sockets together?

Also are you using proper flyleads from it or dollarstore crap?
