Hi, we have a very basic TV and a very basic freeview tuner. I'd like to be able to watch things downloaded as well as freeview-- anyone have any ideas or have a WDTV?

Can a PVR/Freeview setup be used like a TivO? Or can it accept avi files etc?

Thank you!

How about you simply add this question to your existing TiVo thread

What exactly are you asking here?

Is you Freeview tuner a set top box (stb)? (And is satellite based rather than terrestrial?)

The WDTV has no network capabilities, so it would not accept files from a freeview STB.

There may be other freeview stb's that can accept avi files (divx/xvid).  These would be played off a usb key plugged into the Freeview Stb.

Are you asking if a freeview stb can stream off a PC? then generally the answer will be no.
