Hi All,

I just bought this new receiver from the auction (brand new), but I'm having trouble setting it up. Need help badly, I just need FTA channels from Optus D1(KU) satellite. I've done all the stuff posted here regarding setting up. I think everything works fine except that my receiver can't receive any signal. I'm pretty sure I've setup the dish with the help of the satellite finder, I just don't know how to setup the kingvon unit...Any thoughts...Pls help...

Try it on a known good dish before going any furthur.

Those whisling satilite finders will squeal nomatter what the signal is, so it may be totally wrong.

Tnx for the advise, I'll try it on my friends sky dish...But, do I have to fill some info in the satellite guide like the local bearings/azimuth in the receiver? Or it doesn't matter at all?

No, there is just a frequancy of either 11300 or 10750 for the LNB that is needed.

The bearings etc is a calculator that some boxes have in them to help with self installs, so you can tell it where you are and it will give you where to aim the dish. The friends sky dish will already be aimed, so look in its settings for the lcoal oscialtor - which should be one of the 2 values, set yours the same and see if it goes. If not then start hassling the place that sold it to you since if they sell it as a freeview box and it isnt, they have to really support you with it.

I am getting sick of seeing freeview do nothing about upholding their trademarks with sellers of generic sat boxes saying they are freeview boxes.
