It has started complaining of no or bad signal. Used a satellite finder and dish is correctly positioned.
Could someone just confirm what the Antenna settings should be?

I have

Satellite  =  Optus D1
LNB Type  = User  (its a dual LNB)
LNB Low  = 5150
LNB High  = 5750
TP  = (2) 12483
DiSEqC  = Disable
0/12 v  = 0v
22KHz  = Off
LNB Power  = On

Q = 0% and L = 63%

Is it time to bin it?

 Thanks.

C band LNB?

As I would have expected the LNB to be 10750 or 11300 if it is a sky one and not aftermarket

Looks like it's reset itself or similar.

Is you ex sky lnb a oval shaped one or a round shape? (ie the face of the lnb as it looks at the dish).

Anyway, yeah you'll have to select a different lnb from the list. Look for one with a frequency of 10750 or 11300. You might have to enter these details yourself.

Set these values for both and test, ie:

LNB Low = 10750
LNB High = 10750

No one has told me why you'd opt for these Digistar units over say the new Ultraplus 700hdmi PVR.

Its oval. So Hi and Low the same value? Digistar was cheap at the time, where are the Utraplus available?
Thanks.

But still not good enough for a signal, could my LNB be bad?

I'd start with re aligning the dish given you said you did that earlier to try and fix it.

Yeh, i checked the alighnment and its definately right but stll only get Q=42% (quality?) and L = 89% (Loss?)
So I guess its a tossup, new LNB or new STB :-(

The oval SKY lnbs have been starting to fail lately.

Got anyone else nearby with a sat box you can test the current lnb setup with?

Will ask around. If its the LNB any suggestions on what to go for or just pick something off Trademe?

Better chance of support in my opinion.

Up to you but honestly for me I don't mind paying a bit more for a quality product I can trust.
I don't like having to go back to an install again.

They sell the Ultraplus unit I mentioned above too.  I haven't tried it, but it seems to now be in a similar price bracket as the Digistar units.  Well unless you got the digistar for $50, but anyway it has hdmi and PVR functions.  I'm going to get one soon and will report back on my findings of it.
