Hi,

I'm in the Rotorua region. I just got sky disconnected to save some cash.... Now, I can plug the sky aerial into a freeview decoder and receive freeview ok that way. But if I plug the sky aerial into the tv (I use an adaptor so it can push into the old uhf input) then do an auto search for the digital channels I don't get any joy. I tried writing down the satellite settings on the freeview box and entering them into the tv's digital setup but I can't see how that can be easily done.

Is it possible to do the sky dish aerial to tv setup like this or does this tv need the uhf setup?

Hope someone can help.

Thanks,
Goooner

Yeah you are getting DVB-T and DVB-S confused, you must use a UHF aerial to plug into the back of a tv, a sky dish will only work with a DVB-S decoder.

Whooa, thanks for the extra fast reply jbard!

So just to confirm... is this TV a DVB-T setup only?

If that's the case I'm out of luck as that service isn't available in Rotorua.

Thanks

jbard: Yes all TV's are DVB-T, their is no such thing as a DVB-S TV.

Actually, there is.
Panasonic G models for the European market (I think) had built-in DVB-S tuners.
Satlink NZ have a model also.
